I just signed up with hostmonster a couple of days ago, but have run into a snag.

I already own a domain name that is registered at a major registrar. I don't particularlly want to transfer the whole thing to hostmoster (it's already paid up for another 7 years), I just want hostmoster to add my domain name into their DNS servers, and I'll take care of reconfiguring my domain's name servers as ns1.hostmoster.com and ns2.hostmonster.com.

What do I have to do, or whom do I have to ask, to get my domain created in hostmonster's DNS servers? Do I *have to* transfer my domain to hostmonster's control to make this work?

And once hostmonster hosts my DNS domain, which control panel button would I use to manage entries in my domain's DNS database? I don't see an obvious "DNS" management button. Or do they just add a wildcard entry for my domain pointing at "my" server?

thanks

Once you have set the nameservers, you use the option in cPanel "Add-on Domain" to add a new website, or "Park Domain" to make it an alias of your main domain for the account.

You don't have to have hostmonster do anything. You do either of those two options.
