There is a growing discussion at sitepoint forums (http://www.sitepoint.com/forums/showpost.php?p=2815922&postcount=1) about Getty Images invoicing people for copyrighted photos that they find on websites. Even though the photos are removed, Getty keeps hounding people.
My question is concerning the post that says "Getty won't call your hosting company because you did not pay your invoice, they will call because you have a copyrighted image on your website or had one. Read about copyright issues on the TOS pages of any hosting company out there." (Read it here.) (http://www.sitepoint.com/forums/showpost.php?p=3103499&postcount=174)
I seriously doubt Getty would go that far if a person does not pay the invoice, but who knows. Would Hostmonster drop a website owner if Getty called them about this issue?
