Advertising Questions

I am sure this has probably been answered before, but I can't seem to find it.

I am currently building a website that will be full of information. It will someday grow into something more, but at this time, any revenue will be generated by things like Google Adsense.

Is Google Adsense the best avenue for this, or are there other better options out there? It seems to be the most popular, but that doesn't always mean the best or most profitable. Should I be using GA in conjunction with some other options too?

There are other options out there, I use Project Wonderful, but it's mostly used by those involved in the comic/art industry. I've never used GA, so I can't vouch for it. :)
