Hi, Newbie so gentle please.
I am trying to install some FTP server software. WhenI try to run the install from the command line I was getting a -Bash command not found error. The FTP folks said I probably didn't have Bash installed and gave me a different command to try "SU". This did not work. I am not real warm and fuzzy about installing Bash since I am not real good with the stuff the install instructions are unclear to me. Is it difficult to install Bash or am i just over my head and shoud I bail? Or, does anyone know any relatively inexpensive FTP server software that is easy to install?
Thanks so much,
Gary

I suppose my question would be: Why do you want to install FTP server software when your Hostmonster account already comes ready with FTP? There should be nothing to install and you should be able to simply connect to your account using any FTP client.

As for your question about bash, it is already installed. The problem you seem to be having is that HM has restricted the use of bash and you likely can't install anything via the command line. "SU" is a command that allows you to switch users -thus SU - and is used mostly for being able to switch back and forth between a regular account and the root user. Again, HM is not going to allow you to do this so I am afraid you are stuck not being able to install your software. As I said previously, you should not have to because there is already an FTP server installed that you can use to connect to your account.
