I am trying everything to add a domain2 to be hosted here. I have pointed the DNS to hostmonster and when I pull up domain2 it shows the Hostmonster web page. Ok thats good so far.

How do I access this domain2? Under domain manager>list domains, it appears as DEHOSTED, and the CP icon is greyed out.

So on domain1 controlpanel, I go to Addon Domains as it reads "Use this section to host multiple names with your hostmonster account". Ok, so I continue. I click and add the NewDomain Name, Username, and it's Password. and click "Add Domain."

Then I get a message that reads:
"domain2 has been setup. It can be accessed via the subdomain domain2.domain1.com". But I can not acces it via domain1.

Then it reads:
"domain2 could not be setup. The subdomain domain2.domain1.com was not setup either."

Now domain2 is coming up as "parked" instead of dehosted, but I don't want to park it. I want to access the darn thing.

I'm very confused.

EDIT: Ok after playing around another 1/2 hour...it seems that by adding a .com to the "user name" so it matched the domain name exactly seems to of made it all work now....so far. Not to get upset or complain, but it would of been nice to know the user name must match the domain. I've got a feeling someone is going to say that is not true, but after 2 hours playing with the cpanel, this is the only thing that solved this issue.

Now on the list of domains, why is this addon domain's CP icon still greyed out? Can I not access all domains from one CPanel, or do I have to log into each seperately every time?

I hope I read your post right GridTrader heh, it seems you somehow ran into some unforseen circumstances. I have successfully set up my addon domains using directories that don't contain the .com part so I'm not sure why you had this problem. To answer your last question, the answer is yes, you can access all domains from one Cpanel. In fact, its only one CPanel account that runs all your domains which I believe is the reason for CP icon greyed out. How to think of it is basically your first domain is your primary domain. Everything else are secondary domains sort of "sharing" the same CP account. This DOES NOT necessarily mean that if your primary domain goes down that your secondary domains go down as well since I've tested that, at the addon domains don't go down. I hope I wasn't off topic :)
