    I think he may be confused because I made the logo and look of his site + all that junk but I had nothing to do with the favicon.

    NVM, I misunderstood. I get it now. He said eskimoet did those stuff not the favicon.

    Hi All...

    I also struggled with the task of replacing the HM favicon with an alternative favicon.

    Thanks to some of the posts here, I was able to achieve partial success. Here is what I did...

    a) Find the favicon file/s, usually in the root directories of domain and subdomains etc;

    b) Change the name of the HM existing favicon files. I changed to 'faviconhm.ico';

    c) Upload your favicon into the same directory / folder where the faviconhm.ico resides;

    d) Check the results using your browser, but clear the cache first.

    As mentioned, my fix is only partial. For example, Firefox displays my replacement favicon preceding the URL address.

    Internet Explorer, on the other hand, does not display my favicon. Rather IE displays an 'Internet Explorer' icon. Like the IE logo.

    So, in IE I do not see the HM logo, but rather the IE logo. It does not appear to be a 'commercial' IE logo, but rather a default IE favicon icon.

    Any suggestions about the IE fix, is appreciated.

    BTW, I cleared the IE cache. But did not fix the problem.

    IE is notorious for being flakey with favicons...

    From http://www.rw-designer.com/favicon...
    * Add the page to your favorites. If you already have the page in your favorites folder, remove it and add it again.
    * Make sure, the icon file is called favicon.ico and it is placed in the root folder of your web server.
    * Make sure, the path to the favicon in the header of your page is absolute, not relative.
    * Delete your temporary internet files. If the folder with temporary files has reached its maximum, the favicon may not be used.
    * If your favicon is still not showing, leave us a comment below.
